S2 E13: Conspiracy and the FBI in the 70’s

You guys might have heard of J. Edgar Hoover, the former director of the FBI. And when I think of the name J. Edgar Hoover, I think of a bada$$. I think of a man who led this awesome, cool organization, the FBI, for many years. Keeping our country safe from all of the terrible threats that exist around the world. But what if the reason I think that is because J. Edgar Hoover tightly controlled his reputation? And he did this through threats, bribes, and manipulation. In fact it’s even been said that he essentially had dirt on every single congressperson. He literally spied on them so that he could have material with which to bribe them and keep them compliant with his demands. Meanwhile, his organization was almost as focused on spying on American citizens as it was focused on foreign threats. And not violent terrorists, but simply people who dissented – who disagreed with the Vietnam War, how black people were treated, etc.

Well, in the early ’70s J Edgar Hoover got his a$$ handed to him. Not by somebody in Congress, not by somebody in the FBI, not by anyone in the government. No, he got his ass handed to him by a professor. A man who was deeply spiritual and desperately wanted to end the war in Vietnam. And not only that – but this man got away with it.

Much of this discussion was based on the book, “The Burglary,” by Betty Medsger. Warning, this book is interminably long.

S2 E12: Summer with the Leprechauns

Tanis Helliwell was 6 years old when she realized that reading minds was an unusual ability. Thinking herself a freak, she shut down this ability. Years later, she would be confronted with another psychic ability – that of being able to see and interact with the Elementals. This time, she decided to let her freak flag fly, and thank God she did because I needed material for a new episode.

S2 E11: A Historical Wych Hunt

April 1943, England, it’s wartime, and 4 teenage boys are scavenging for food in the woods. One of them sees a wych elm (photo below), and thinks he might be able to find birds eggs. Instead, he finds a human skull. This discovery would lead to one of the most intriguing and baffling unsolved mysteries of the 20th century: Who Put Bella Down The Wych Elm?

This week, we are joined by the Dos Equis man himself, John Taylor! Check him out at: TwistedPodcast.com

S2 E8: Autobiography of a Yogi, Part 1

Ok, don’t be fooled by the droll title. Yogis apparently live lives that I thought were only written about in fantasy novels, and this Yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda is no exception. Is it possible to read minds? Can a dead man heal? Can a man be in two places at once? Check out this week’s episode to find out!

S2 E7: The Superhuman Abilities of the Yogis

For this episode, I dove deep into a rabbit hole exploring all of the different gifts that are bestowed to people who devote their lives to God through meditation – and I didn’t even scratch the surface. I hope you enjoy!

S2 E6: The Law of Attraction Works

Ok, so what is really possible with manifestation? Many of you have probably already heard of the Law of Attraction – if you desire something, and you think about it, then it will come into your reality. And many people right off the bat don’t believe it. Some people try it for a little while, and then stop believing it. But one woman, whose motto was, “there’s never failure, only a delay in results,” was able to manifest a truly insanely magical life. This is her story.

S2 E5: Insane Psych Experiments, Part 2

If you enjoyed last week’s Part 1 of this series, you’re definitely going to love this one. Once again, I am joined by John Taylor of the Twisted Podcast. This was a lot of fun, so I hope you enjoy!

Thanks for checking out this week’s episode. Next week’s episode is all about one woman’s insanely paranormal life – and she had PROOF!

S2 E4: Insane Psych Experiments, Part 1

In 1972, 8 people, looking disheveled and dirty, arrived at various mental institutions across different parts of America. All 8 of them complained that they kept hearing the word, “thud.” That’s it, just that word. What happened next ended up taking the world of psychology by storm.

This week, I was joined again by John Taylor of the Twisted Podcast, so enjoy!
